Galaxy, the First Satellite of the World's First Commercial AI Constellation,Was Successfully Launched

At 8:43 on October 29th, the Galaxy satellite, coded Scorpio-1, was successfully launched by a Long March II C Rocket. This is a satellite designed and developed by Chengdu Guoxing Aerospace Science and Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as"Guoxing Aerospace"), a company invested in by Galaxy Venture Capital.After the separation of satellite and rocket, the satellite successfully entered sun-synchronous orbit.


Galaxy is the first satellite of the world'sfirst commercial AI constellation, Star Age. Galaxy HoldingGroup is committedto “becominga leader in urban development”. It has adopted satellite technology for the first time to improve the level of urban development andoperations. The “Galaxy” satellite will work with other subsequent satellites of the "Star Age" constellation toprovide services for Galaxy Holding Group. The services include project siteselection, land evaluation, infrastructure planning and design support,upgrading project management levels, providing the basis for decision-making ofprojects’commercial layouts, supplying safer and smarter business and living environmentsfor property owners through connecting people with space. All these services are ways of sharing the benefits of “space + urban development”.

With the support of China’s“military and civilian integration” strategy, China's private commercial aerospace industry has developed rapidly in recent years. As an entity belongingto the Sichuan Micro-Nano Satellite Innovation Research Institute, GuoxingAerospace assumed the responsibility for the development and implementation ofthe “Star Age” AI constellation, and obtained angelinvestment from ElectronicsTechnology Galaxy Venture Capital Fund (a sub fund of Galaxy Venture CapitalFund) and Shenzhen Capital Group.

As reported, onSeptember 5, 2018, two cube-satellites, "Tianfu Junrong No.1" and"Chengdu Gaoxin No.1", coded Virgo-1 of the AI constellation, passedthe load testing and were successfully launched by iSpace’s Hyperbolic 1Z Rocket.These satellites were designed entirely by Guoxing Aerospace and jointlydeveloped by the Tianyi Research Institute. After the rocket entered a sub-orbitaltrajectory, the satellites and the rocketwere separated. Subsequently, the satellite-rocketintegrated AI processing system successfully completed the relevant data downlinkand technical verifications, laying a solid foundation for today's successful launch.
